3日（月）にオーストラリアからお越しの親子のお客様を三原山にご案内しました。
On Monday the 3rd, I guided a father and son visiting from Australia on a tour of Mt. Mihara.
旅行を計画しているときに、
息子さんが伊豆大島を地図で偶然見つけたそうです！
While planning their trip to Japan, the son happened to spot Izu Oshima on a map and decided to visit the island!
地図からの出会いで来島を決めてくれるなんて、その冒険心に感嘆です
I really admired their adventurous spirit, choosing a destination simply from discovering it on a map.
オーストラリアでは見られない、流れたばかりの溶岩の上で上陸記念！
To celebrate their arrival, we took a photo on fresh lava flows, something you cannot see in Australia.
山頂に向かって歩いていると、あれよあれよという間に霧が立ちこめてきました
As we walked toward the summit, fog suddenly started rolling in.
真っ白な世界に包まれた神社
Soon the shrine appeared, surrounded by a world of pure white.
荘厳な雰囲気です。
The atmosphere felt quiet and almost sacred.
お父様はベンチで休憩され、
The father took a rest on a bench.
息子さんと「火口は見られないかもしれないけど...」ということで
火口西展望所まで足をのばしました。
The son and I decided to continue a little farther to the West Crater Observatory, even though we weren’t sure if the view would be visible.
火口は霧で見えませんでしたが、
ちょうど他にも来ていた方がいたので、写真を撮ってもらいました。
Although we couldn't see the crater because of the fog,
there happened to be other visitors there who kindly took a photo for us.
外輪山展望所にもどって振り返ると、三原山の山頂はすっかり雲の中
When we returned to the outer rim observatory and looked back, the summit of Mt. Mihara was already hidden in the clouds.

I’m glad we were able to see it earlier during the tour.
お昼をご持参いただいたのですが、山の上では霧で食べられなかったので
景色のいい場所へ移動してランチ休憩
They had brought their own lunch, but the fog on the mountain was too thick to enjoy it there, so we moved to a scenic spot for a relaxing lunch break.
その後、地層大切断面へ
After that, we visited the famous Great Road Cut,
圧巻のスケールの火山の島の露頭を見ていただきました。
where they could see the impressive layers of volcanic eruption deposits.
そして最後は、オーストラリアにはないブラックビーチへ！
Finally, we headed to a black sand beach—something you don’t find in Australia!
お客様の ”It's black!” の声が印象的でした
The father’s surprised reaction, “It’s black!” was unforgettable.
日帰りのご滞在でしたが、伊豆大島を楽しんでいただけて何よりでした。
Although their stay on the island was just a day trip, I’m very happy they were able to enjoy their time on Izu Oshima.
伊豆大島に来る前には、福島第一原発のツアーに参加されるなど
地元ガイドとの交流を大切に旅をされているお二人に感激しました。
Before coming here, they had even joined a tour of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. I was truly impressed by how they value traveling through meeting and learning from local guides.
